Junior Prom!

A promenade; a semi-formal (black tie) dance held at the end of an academic year; a formal dance, especially one held by a high school or college class at the end of an academic year; the prom. No matter how you define it there's no getting around the fact that prom is quickly approaching! Junior Prom is still more then a month away but tickets are on sale now and the tension is growing. For the people in long-term relationships this time is a breeze, it's just a matter of the guy "forking up the dough" and her picking out a gorgeous dress. However, for the "single ladies" and men this can be a stressful time. They would love to go to prom, but don't know who to dance. And there are the people who start up a new relationship just for prom and then have to pray it will last for a seven weeks.

Damsels: The junior boys are being dumb. It seems as though all of my friends, who are very pretty and fun, are having trouble finding dates. Why is it that these great girls cannot find reasonable dates? It must be because of the fact that at the age of sixteen and seventeen boys are still incredibly immature and uncertain of themselves. If only they knew that if they pick a nice girl it's highly likely that they will want to go with them too. I'm sure that either way these wonderful girls will find handsome boys to dance the night away with; I just hope it's soon.

Fellows: Ah, the boys. They are confused and trying to act reasonably but sometimes their hormones interfere. Sadly, there are many guys in high school who are just looking to "get some." Don't get me wrong, there are tons of great guys who act like gentlemen and are respectful. However, guys don't like to talk about the latest chick-flick he watched on his last date. So when it comes to Junior Prom some guys are looking for a girl to have fun with and enjoy their night, and the others are looking for "different" kinds of girls. This is where the younger girls come in: almost any sophomore or freshman girl would love to go to Junior Prom and every junior guy is aware of that.

With the economic crisis and the daily drastic climate changes, the times are rough. But I believe every junior will have a great time if they go in with and open mind. Prom can be a night of amazing friendships, crazy dancing, or even true love. Let prom be what you want it to be. My advice: do not over think prom. Either way you are going to have a great time so let the chips just fall as they may. Dance the night away and let go of any drama that shows up. Have a great junior prom, and if anything exciting happens, leave a comment and tell all about it! :)
